5.6. The Setup Dialog

The 'Setup' dialog box is used to change global system options. Most of these options are stored in the configuration file '.xwiorc'.

The 'Link Device' entry selects the link driver used.

The 'Network File ' defines the file containing information about the network topology. This usually is a '.boo' file as created by the network compiler NETCOM . The default file is 'SINGLE.BOO', which will boot a single Transputer using link 0. Pressing the "Generic" button or entering "generic.boo" as network file will start a "worm" program at every reset. This worm automatically adapts to your network topology. The 'Select' button pops up a file select dialog.

'Default file' is the compiled PROLOG file started as default application. This can be any '.lkd' file that can be started from the 'Open' dialog. Default entry is 'shell.lkd '. Again, the 'Select' button opens a file select dialog. Please make sure that the selected files are either described by a full path or can be found in your current directory or in one of the directories stated in the 'BBIN' environment variable . (See the Installation Manual and the "read.me" files for details about 'PATH' settings.)

'Help viewer' specifies a commandline that is used to view the HTML online help files. This usually consists of the nema of the HTML browser with the command line options to view the main index, its URL normally is 'file://${BBIN}/bap.html'.

The 'Default' button resets all values to their default entries. The 'Save' button updates the settings and saves them to .xwiotc file. The 'Use' button will update the current settings without saving them to disk. 'Cancel' exits the setup dialog without making any changes.
